Policy & Civic Engagement
Food Policy Councils (FPCs) bring together stakeholders from diverse food-related sectors to examine how the food system is operating and to develop recommendations on how to improve it. Food policy councils have been successful at educating officials and the public, shaping public policy, improving coordination between existing programs, and starting new programs. Learn more >

New Mexico Grown
The New Mexico Grown Initiative provides New Mexico students with regionally grown fresh fruits and vegetables, while providing a new market for farmers, an economic benefit to both urban and rural areas, and assists schools meet new Federal nutrition requirements. Learn more >

New Mexico Food & Agriculture Policy Council
The New Mexico Food and Agriculture Policy Council is a democratic association composed of groups and individuals working on issues around food and agriculture systems. It educates those affected by these issues and develops and advocates for specific policy recommendations and alternatives at the local, state and national levels. Learn more >

FoodCorps & AmeriCorps
FoodCorps is a nationwide team of leaders that connects kids to real food and helps them grow up healthy. AmeriCorps is a US Federal Government program with the goal of “helping others and meeting critical needs in the community.” Across New Mexico, AmeriCorps Cadre service members provide intensive, results-driven service to meet education, environmental, health, economic and other pressing needs.
